Individual Patient Appointments (“IPAs”)

IPAs with Dr. Lewin are approximately 12-14 minutes in length and are meant to be a brief introduction.  If you are interested in meeting with Dr. Lewin 1-on-1, please select this during your registration. The Individual Patient Appointment fee is free, but patients will be required to complete medical history form and upload photos during registration to secure an appointment. Dr. Lewin and staff will then be able to review and assess the patient ahead of time, making the most out of your consultation. Families can also schedule a Zoom consultation after the conference weekend; the standard $450 USD consultation fee will be waived through year end for AUMAC attendees.

Event Hosts

Dr. Sheryl Lewin, Porous Implant Ear Reconstruction Surgeon

Dr. Lewin is a Craniofacial-trained board-certified Plastic Surgeon. She is one of the leading microtia surgeons of the world treating children and adults with the Porous Implant Ear Reconstruction (“PIER”) technique. Simone Cheadle, Microtia Atresia Australia

Simone Cheadle is a qualified Primary and Early Childhood teacher with additional training as a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist. Her passion for supporting families of children with microtia and atresia comes from her own journey. Her daughter was born with these conditions, and she understands firsthand the questions, challenges, and emotions that come with this diagnosis. Simone has been providing support services to children with microtia and atresia and their families since 2008. Recognising a significant gap in consistent support and reliable information for families Australia-wide, Simone founded Microtia Atresia Australia in 2022. She provides families with trusted guidance, resources, and advocacy to help them feel informed, empowered, and less alone and has built a supportive community. She has successfully organized and delivered 26 Microtia and Atresia Conferences across Australia, including in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and online. These events connect families with world-leading experts and the latest developments in treatment and care.
