I recently held a live, interactive webinar for Audiologists titled “Microtia Ear Surgery and Bone Anchored Hearing Devices” through Audiology Online. Families were invited to attend as well.
Course Abstract: The three primary options for Microtia reconstruction (Medpor, Rib cartilage graft and prosthetic ear) will be reviewed including the advantages and disadvantages of each. Options for bone anchored hearing devices (both percutaneous and transcutaneous) and how they can be integrated with surgical ear reconstruction will be discussed. A recent technique for combining the Medpor ear reconstruction with a bone anchored device in a single outpatient surgery will be presented.
After my presentation attendees were able to ask questions interactively. I was thrilled to find out that the course received 37 responses with an overall 5 star rating! If you would like to watch the recorded version of the webinar, click HERE and select Course #25241.
